Friday-Sunday, April 12-14, 2019
Come join the Arizona 356 Outlaws on another world class scenic weekend drive to Springerville, Alpine and the infamous Coronado Trail.
Friday April 12
The Bulldog Kliffs Rennen starts on Friday with Outlaws meeting in Apache Junction for a 10 AM start. Meet at the Chevron Station located on the NW corner of Ironwood Drive and Baseline Avenue (3940 S Ironwood Dr, Apache Junction, AZ 85120). After a brief Driver's meeting, we leave for a lunch hookup with the Tucson group at Guayo's in Globe.
For those wishing to caravan from Tucson, please meet at the Beyond Bread, 421 W. Ina Rd, for a no later than 9AM departure.
Our merry group then leaves Globe and travels through the Salt River Canyon towards Show Low and Pinetop. We will stop for a brief rest break at the Pinetop Brewing Company in Pinetop, AZ. Then we proceed to our destination hotel in Springerville, the Reeds Motor Lodge (514 E Main St, Springerville, AZ 85938) for a cool down party at the hotel. A room block has been secured that will expire on March 28th, so reserve your room as soon as possible.
Dinner Friday is on your own as desired.
Saturday April 13
Saturday starts with a Driver's meeting at the hotel and then off we go through Alpine and a drive down AZ191 with a lunch stop planned at the Hannagan Meadow Lodge. After lunch we travel down the spectacular Devil's Highway, aka Coronado Trail. The 91 mile drive down AZ191 will bring us to a turn-around point called Sardine Saddle, as a result of a bridge closure just north of Morenci. We will turn around at that point and drive back up the Coronado trail to Hannagan Meadow Lodge for a rest break and refuel stop. Yes, we get to drive it twice! We then head back to Alpine in time for a group dinner at the Foxfire at Alpine restaurant. This dinner will be a great time to enjoy some camaraderie with your fellow Outlaws and swap stories about the day's challenging drive.
Sunday April 14
Drive home safely!
Event Hotel
Because our Outlaws trips often take on a nostalgic sense from the 50s and 60s in our 60+ year old cars, we have chosen a hotel that will be somewhat of a throw back to the motor lodge days. We have secured a special room block at Reeds Motor Lodge in Springerville, AZ (514 E. Main, Springerville, AZ 85938). This lodge will be our headquarters for both Friday night (4/12) and Saturday night (4/13). Because this announcement comes just a month out from the event date please call the lodge right away to secure your room. The room block expires on March 28th.
The special rates are as follows:
- Deluxe room @ $82.77 including tax
- Cabin Room @ $71.66 including tax
You must call Reeds Motor Lodge at 928-333-4323 direct to secure your room at this rate. Be sure to mention the Arizona Outlaws 356 Club to get the special rate.
